Ansco and Agfa Cameras

Back to Old Cameras Home

Agfa Silette - This late 1950s camera features a 1:2.8 45mm Agnar lens, and shutter speeds of B to 1/250th sec. It feels nice in the hands and works well with a flash. Similar in appearance to the Kodak Retinette of same vintage. Both made in Germany, so maybe that's why.

Ansco Speedex. This 120 folding camera has a decent 3 element lens, and does a remarkably fine job. It's one of my favorite 120 folding cameras. I have several images in my B&W gallery from this camera.

Ansco Shur-Shot - Another camera that takes 6x9 negs on 120 film. Definitely not a Graflex! The shutter covers the lens, making some people think the camera is missing a lens. Just your pretty basic cardboard box camera.
Ansco Panda -- A cute, unusally compact reflex box camera. Only one shutter speed -- perhaps 1/50 sec. There is a Yahoo group devoted to the Panda, and go James Surprenant's site for more information. The camera takes 620 film.
