Behningiidae Dolania americana has not yet been recorded from Michigan, with regional records restricted to western Wisconsin (Mississippi River area). This species may be incountered in large rivers in sandy substrates, perhaps in the western part of the lower peninsula. Dolania Edmunds and Traver, 1959
