Dr. Cohn's research interests are in the systematics of Orthoptera. Affiliated with the museum since the 1950's, Dr. Cohn has recently retired from his position as Professor in the Department of Biology, San Diego State University, California. He has contributed many thousands of Orthoptera specimens to the collection during his association with the UMMZ. From May - December, he can usually be found here.


He is currently working to complete systematics research on the North American genus Pristoceuthophilus (Rhaphidophoridae) and South American representatives. He is also the current Treasurer of the Orthopterists' Society .
